You’ll look magnificent wearing the vintage 1960s-70s Tan 100% Wool Basque Beret! Made in France for Alexander\'s, a famous New York City department store, this stylish basque beret is in classic 100% tan wool and it\'s so chic! The store often sold items under its own private label, \"Alexander\'s,\" or collaborated with other manufacturers to produce exclusive items. This style hat is called a Basque-style beret because it’s the traditional hat worn by mountain shepherds from the south of France. In Western fashion, men and women have worn the beret since the 1920s as sportswear and later as a fashion statement! This beret is unlined with a cloth logo tag with fabric content and country of origin. Matching tan stalk, known in French as \"le cabillou\" located in the center top of the hat. C’est magnifique!? Details: VTG 1960s-70s; GUC; Multiple spots of superficial moth damage; no holes; see last photos. Tan 100% Wool 10.5\"W Opening 6\" Made in France Smoke free home Fast Shipper!
